Architectural and Planning Studio (APS) started trading as a Partnership over 35 years ago, and continues to evolve to meet the ever changing needs and requirements of every new client and project.

APS, commenced operation in 1980 under the direction of two well known and established local architects, Roy Densem and Philip Smith.

In 1985 and 1988 respectively Mark Claypole, and Andrew van de Ruit, joined as a partners - Shortly afterwards in 1989 Roy Densem would retire from the partnership.

In April 1998 Jonathan Atkinson joined the company, as a partner - The practice would continue in this format until Andrew van de Ruit's
untimely death in 2004 - Not long afterwards in 2005, hyper-inflation and severe economic constraints would force the temporary
closure of the office.

6 years later, In January 2011, the practice was re-opened, trading from the very same offices in Newlands, Harare under the experienced guidance and direction of Mark Claypole - At the same time Graham Cochrane and Geoff Fox, joined the companies ranks, with the intention of continuing APS’s reputation and delivering the same high standard of rounded architectural service.
